Hey there!
Ever notice how you sometimes avoid doing things because you want them to be EASY?
The funny thing is that making stuff harder makes it feel easier.
It’s like with games—these are basically just ridiculously complicated tasks with rules that make no sense, but somehow, we love them.
Think about it: basketball is just throwing a ball around, but add in a hoop, some points, and a bunch of people trying to block you, and suddenly, it’s super engaging. The arbitrary rules and complications make it fun and exciting.
So why not apply this to everyday stuff? For example, I’ve made folding laundry a game. I set a challenge: fold all the pants in under 2 minutes while dodging pool noodles thrown by my kids. It’s a wild ride, but it makes the task a lot more interesting!
Questions, challenges, obstacles…..these are the things I add to my “monotonous tasks” to keep my brain engaged.
Is it a lot of work to complete what “normal people” do without much effort?
NO!
Coming up with games fulfills a NEED. I have to be creative, tell stories, and live with adventure.
I was made to do these tasks this way.
There’s a way for you to do them, too.
Let’s find it.
